Janet Abbott

I am the Senior Circuit Steward for Oldham Circuit and NWED Synod member. I am also part of the Circuit Leadership Team, with responsibility for finance and a shared responsibility for the pastoral care of our ministers.

I am a member of Gravelhole Methodist Church which is now part of The Methodist Church in Royton – a united trust of three churches – Fir Lane, Gravelhole and Trinity. As Sunday worship at Gravelhole has now ceased, I worship at Trinity Methodist Church in Royton.

I was a head teacher at a primary school in Middleton for 19 years before retiring from teaching. I work on a casual/part-time basis as a School Advisor for the Manchester Church of England Diocese. I am also a school governor for two schools within the Rochdale Borough.

I am proud to be a member of Oldham Methodist Circuit and privileged to serve the circuit and our community. It is a joy to be part of the Methodist fellowship and to join together as a community of churches within our circuit, as we seek spiritual guidance and strengthen our faith in God – to grow in love and have hope for our future – serving God and looking to follow Christ's example.
